This is where, you must be careful. Keep in mind these things in addition to general problems.
- Anyone can easily repaint things with spray paint, online these parts or bikes can look good and in decent shape, but the rest of the bike such as the engine may be totally beat.
- Be wary if the bike you are looking at does not have a cable that is connected to the throttle cable and runs into the case above/near the sprocket. This is because the output from the oil injection pump is controlled not only by engine speed, but also by throttle position. If the cable is missing, but the pump is set at its "W.O.T. position" then I would assume its ok, but I am not responsible for any damage occurring from this assumption.
- Stay away from bikes "converted to Pre-mix" unless you are going to replace the crankshaft bearings/big end rod bearing, and buy a replacement oil pump/lines/etc. On some bikes, it is acceptable to run pre-mix, however, on the TS185 this will damage your engine. The oil injection system on these bikes uses an engine driven pump to to deliver lubricating oil under pressure to the crankshaft bearings, and lower connecting rod bearing.
- Be aware of the price of replacement parts, and bargain accordingly.
